Desiree Whitney, Founder and Co-Owner

I’ve practice yoga for 20 years because; I felt the incredible healing powers of yoga physically & mentally. In 2012, I took my passion for yoga and my desire to go deeper by completing a RYT 200 teacher training at the Esther Vexler Yoga School. While studying yoga asana and philosophy I was introduced to Ayurveda, a sister science to Yoga, focused on self-healing aimed at restoring wholeness and spiritual healing. I was inspired and graduated from the Himalayan Institute’s Ayurvedic Yogi Specialist (AYS) training.  In February 2016, I completed Judith Lasater's Restorative Yoga training, fabulous for anyone wishing to remove tension from the body and mind and restore energy and joy! Teaching Philosophy Through my training and mentors, I practice and teach a Hatha yoga style that focuses on alignment and is designed to open the energy channels in the body. I love using the yoga wall, chairs, props and aerial hammocks to explore, refine and advance traditional asana. I hold positions a little longer and use breathe to help focus, build strength and flexibility. Please join me in my exploration of the flowing, dynamic form of yoga.

Melissa Aguirre, Co-Owner

Author, Educator and Entrepreneur, Melissa Aguirre ERYT 500, C-IAYT is an integrative mind body therapist directing, teaching and authoring therapeutic programs for special populations and the military community. Founding director of nonprofit Trinity Healing Foundation, partner of USO and the Vogel Resiliency Center at Fort Sam Houston, military spouse, and chai enthusiast, Melissa Aguirre is passionate about empowering the community to advocate for individual wellbeing through self care, stress management and connection

Kayla Walser

Kayla is passionate about helping you cultivate a lifestyle through mind-body movement and healing modalities that allows for sustainability, physically, mentally and emotionally. Kayla teaches therapeutics, aerial and buti yoga.

Sharon Maresh

Sharron has been teaching yoga now for 12+ years, and was an avid student of yoga for 4 years before she started teaching. Yoga changed her life, and she believes it can change yours too! Sharron has a passion for yoga and helping people live healthier, happier and more peaceful lives. Yoga has definitely been an amazing tool for just that for both her and her students through the years. She teaches a traditional Hatha yoga, mat yoga, chair yoga and also a Chakra Meditation class.

Tricia Messiniger

Yoga started knocking on my life’s door all the way back in the mid 1990’s. By 2002 I was having so much fun I was in yoga teacher training. It has been a wild and crazy ride ever since. I have had the opportunity to teach in Colorado Springs, Phoenix, San Antonio and now Boerne.
In 2010, to help me deepen my understanding of yoga and to help my students more, I completed a 400 hour training in Thai Yoga Therapy. In 2013, I completed my 500 hour training to become a Texas licensed massage therapist. With this additional training I can now help my students find the best versions of the postures for their bodies.
Throughout all of my teaching and trainings what has stayed consistent is the importance of our breath and how through our breath we can transform both our movement and our bodies. Please join me to discover the joy of uniting breath with mindful movement.

Lauren McIntosh

Lauren “La” discovered aerial yoga in 2017 and loves to tell the story of the first time she went upside down when her soul said, “Duh, what took you so long?” Aerial yoga quickly became her activity of choice during her own weight-loss and wellness journey. She especially loves that aerial yoga is great movement for all body shapes and sizes no matter a person's level of fitness.

Finding freedom and joy in using traditional and non-traditional yoga poses in the aerial hammock, Lauren's goal in teaching is to share that same fun spirit while exploring the untapped strength and abilities of our bodies. She enjoys combining movement, breathing and mindfulness techniques to create a happy calmness of the mind.

Taking it up a notch, Lauren brings a combination of strength and playfulness to her Grounded Aerial® Bungee classes. It constantly reminds her of muscles that are often left little-used and was delightfully surprised at how the bungee let her accomplish an assisted handstand. She is excited to introduce this fun class to students to discover their own abilities.

Originally from Ohio, she and her husband got here just as soon as they could and have lived in Boerne since 2015 with their rescue dog, Callie. Lauren is also an artist and fills her cupboards with handmade pottery.

She completed her RYT200 through Camp Utopia at Shine On Yoga in San Marcos, Aerial Yoga Certification with Anne McCarthy at Aerial Yoga Boerne, Intro to Thai Bodywork Certification through Robert Gardner in Austin, and Grounded Aerial® Bungee Training through Karen Fuhrman from Grounded Aerial® of Pennsylvania.

Leslie Hlavinka

Leslie has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, and has experienced firsthand its many physical, mental and spiritual benefits. She is a graduate of the Esther Vexler Yoga School and a registered member of Yoga Alliance at the RYT/200 level. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Texas A & M University. She likes to write poetry and has published a book of haiku. And she is also a member of the Alamo Area Master Naturalists.

Teaching Philosophy

As a certified yoga instructor, I am blessed with the opportunity to share my love of yoga with others. I strive to honor the long lineage and heritage of classical yoga, respecting the wisdom of the many honorable gurus who have come before me. And I teach yoga to serve in love and compassion, promoting the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of all students as we seek the sacred together.

Kathy Johnson

Kathy has been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years and teaching since 2014. She has taught students of all ages and believes that yoga is the perfect compliment to the activities of life. Join her for a playful flow practice, or a slow, mindful Yin practice focused on the breath and connection of mind, body and spirit. As a registered yoga teacher, Kathy has over 300 hours of training in alignment-based Hatha yoga with a concentration in Yin yoga. She studies daily and regularly participates in yoga trainings to keep her teaching fresh and inspired. Katherine Johnson is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).

Claudia Chittim

Claudia Chittim loves to teach aerial yoga safely to help students connect with positive intentions and pranayama. She is certified in Adaptive Yoga with 200 hrs. RYT and is also certified to teach Aerial Yoga. Claudia is also a runner and former pentathlete. She takes a lot of time to include cardio sets in her daily routine and understands how to help athletes stretch in ways that they can’t do outside of the aerial silks. Claudia believes to meet students at their state of mind and body and helps clients achieve their goals whether it be overcoming mental obstacles or just increasing strength and flexibility in the body through aerial yoga. Her classes incorporate both floor and aerial asanas along with well planned pranayama. Please join her in class at Boerne Yoga to safely practice setting new boundaries while increasing flexibility in your mind and body.

Claudia Solitaire

My love of power and vinyasa yoga began in 2012. It became a powerful tool in my healing journey.  
Through my yoga practice, I was able to learn how to manage my stress and to let go of things that no longer served me.  
In 2019,  I received my 200 hour and 300 hr Adaptive Therapeutic Yoga certification with Mel Marie Yoga. 
As I witnessed my life transform through yoga, I discovered the benefits of more therapeutic practices such as restorative yoga, yin yoga, somatic yoga, and meditation. 
I’m a lover of movement and creative sequencing, and strive to create a safe space for my students empowering them to create a deeper inner connection so they may come home to themselves. 
I love coffee, moon gazing, and spending quality time with my three children and husband.
